The Project Architect oversees the design and construction of various projects. The selected individual will work closely with clients, contractors, and other team members to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
Operations
(Target Utilization – 90%)
The Project Architect works with the Project Executive to develop the project approach and methodology. They will also utilize the mechanisms for executing projects and documenting information required to deliver projects from concept through construction administration.
The Project Architect will:
- Assess project requirements, while developing and recommending a sound approach or application to meet the needs of the project and client.
- Observe, participate, or lead sessions between interior designers, architects, and engineers for a cohesive collaborative design process.
- Execute multiple projects, on time, within budget, and to agreed specifications and provide effective, skilled project management to help reduce the costs of delivering projects while adding value to the business by applying proven project management techniques to maintain corporate initiatives to assist in achieving the company's goals.
- Ensure that project deliverables satisfy project requirements.
- Facilitate the creation of communication plans, ensure that appropriate information is exchanged among key stakeholders, and conduct status review meetings among project team members and clients.
- Manage client interaction on assigned projects and promote positive relationships.
- Attend departmental meetings to learn the multiple facets of our work from Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and to better understand their roles within the department.
- Participate in the review outcome of completed design projects to learn about opportunities to improve productivity, profitability, and outcome.
- Review project budgets and schedules with the Project Manager.
- Collaborates with other team members to develop design concepts and solutions.
- Prepare and review construction documents, including drawings and specifications.
- Oversee construction activities to ensure compliance with design and specifications.
- Manage project teams, including architects, engineers, and contractors.
Client Facing
- Attend, participate, or lead client presentations and project meetings as required.
- Serve as Project Lead on select projects and maintain relationships internally and externally to ensure project success.
- Grow client base through the delivery of excellent services.
- Serve as the architectural designer on select projects, maintaining relationships internally and externally to ensure project success.
- Coordinates with clients to determine project requirements and goals
- Attend pre-bid meetings with clients and prepare proposals in conjunction with department heads, directors, and other key individuals; actively assist in Design budget development.
Strategic
- Learn the company’s mission, vision, and values and embody them in your work.
- Participate in mentorship activities within Genesis as both Mentor and Mentee.
- Participate in advancing the company's knowledge base and skill sets through knowledge sharing, innovative thinking, and collaboration.
YOU MAY BE A GOOD FIT IF YOU MEET THESE REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture
- Minimum of 5 years of project management experience
- Professional Registration / Registered Architect
- Strong knowledge of building codes, regulations, and construction methods
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Bluebeam.
- Proficiency in MS Office suite.
- Familiarity with RFI software, such as ProCore, etc.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to build rapport with project staff
- Progressive ability, capacity, and aptitude in administration to plan, organize, supervise, and coordinate technical work and to obtain cooperation from others.
- High level of scheduling skills.
- Analytical thinking, structured problem-solving skills, skills, team building, and strong work ethic.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experiences in life sciences, pharmaceutical, or biotech industries are preferred.
Additional Information for California Applicants: Salary Range: $135,000-155,000
The base salary range represents the low and high end of the anticipated salary range for this position located in the San Diego, CA market. The actual base salary offered for this position will be based on various factors including but not limited to work location, qualifications, skills required, and relevant work experience.
